Adobe acrobat or 'PDF'

1. To check whether you have the correct software installed click here.

2. If you do not see a 'yes' message after about 1 minute, then you need to install the free software.

3. To install the Adobe Acrobat Reader ask your IT helpdesk, if you have access, or visit www.adobe.co.uk.
The file is about 8Mb in size and may take up to 40 minutes to download depending on the speed of your Internet connection.

Saving PDF files onto your computer

Once you have downloaded the PDF document, click the small grey floppy disk 'save' icon on the toolbar at the top left to save the file.

Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint Files

These may appear for you to view in your Internet Browser, or you may see a box asking you to save the file first - you can then open the document from your computer, just like any ordinary file. (Provided that you have Microsoft Office installed.)

Saving Microsoft files from your browser

Either:

1. 'Right-click' the link and choose 'Save Target As...' option or

2. In the browser, when you are reading the document you want to save, from the browser menu choose: File - Save As.

Viewing Microsoft files if you do not have Microsoft Office software installed
