Climate Change and Energy Sustainability Seminar - 18 May 2006

Climate change mitigation and energy sustainability are major factors within the future economic and social agenda for Cornwall. However, it is understandably easy to be confused about the vast amount of, sometimes contradictory, information provided by the national media at present.

Research, recently undertaken by the University of Exeter (UoE), is aimed at providing information which is specific to the South West and, therefore, is seen to have even greater relevance to us here in Cornwall.

The seminar was structured to allow discussion on the various elements of the UoE research project which includes Climate Change, CO2 emissions in the SW, Fossil Fuels and Nuclear Power, Renewable Energy, Energy Demand, Usage and energy prices and a look at the cross cutting issues of urgency, justice and security of supply.
