An Energy Strategy for the Isles of Scilly

As part of its work with all of its Beacon Councils for Sustainable Energy, CSEP has been developing an energy strategy with the Council of the Isles for Scilly.
Energy sustainability is a key strategic issues for the Islands communities and businesses.
The Council approved a full consultation process on the first version of the strategy drafted with key interventions from council officers and Cllr Richard Mc Carthy, the Isles of Scilly representative on CSEP’s Local Authority Members' Forum. The council has been responsible for the consultation process on the Islands and provided support for CSEP to undertake the wider consultation process. This was carried out by by Richard Hoggett, working on behalf of CSEP.
In September 2006, as a result of the ‘wider’ consultation process, CSEP produced recommendations for the Council of the Isles of Scilly to consider. Information on these recommendations and the full 207 page report for the Council of the Isles of Scilly can be obtained from Sean Parsons of the Council of the Isles of Scilly.
