Energy & Sustainability Strategy - Truro and Threemilestone Area Action Plan
Community Energy Plus, CSEP and Sustain Cornwall were commissioned by Carrick District Council to prepare an Energy and Sustainability Strategy as part of the evidence base for the Truro and Threemilestone Area Action Plan. The strategy advises the council on ways that the proposed urban extension can create sustainable communities that have a low impact on the environment and bring social and economic wins for local residents and the Council. It makes recommendations on local planning policy, master planning and target setting for the new developments, plus ways in which the Council can lead and facilitate energy efficiency, renewable energy, water, food, transport, waste and financing options (including ESCo potential).
The strategy was approved for consultation by Members in November 2008 and will be updated in 2009 to ensure alignment with the final version of the South West Regional Spatial Strategy, which was in draft form at the time it was written. The strategy is available on Carrick's website at http://www.carrick.gov.uk/index.cfm?articleid=20655
